Bulk Index Checker alternatives: Chrome extensions and tools for checking Google indexing
Bulk Index Checker (by CodeZy) is a free Chrome extension, about 3,000 users on the Chrome Web Store, that checks the Google indexing status of a pasted list of URLs. People look for alternatives for three reasons that show up in its reviews and listing: a limit of 20 URLs per run, no history of earlier checks, and a few reviews that report wrong results. This page compares it with the other options. Listing details and prices checked 2026-11-01; they change, so follow the links.
Disclosure: we build Indexkeeper, which is in the table. It is not released yet: it is not on the Chrome Web Store. We list what it is designed to do and say so.
Bulk Index Checker, from its own listing
- What it does: "Check the indexing status for 20 web pages simultaneously", mark indexed and non-indexed pages, download the results as a report. Version 2.0 moved the interface to Chrome's side panel and raised the limit from 10 to 20 URLs per query.
- Price: free. The listing shows no in-app purchases and mentions no paid plan.
- Store numbers: 3,000 users, 3.8 stars from 30 ratings, last updated 13 January 2025 (listing).
- Reviews: mixed. Some reviewers call the results accurate (the newest are from August 2026 and December 2025); others between November 2024 and October 2025 report results that always say "Indexed" or do not match Google. We cannot tell from the outside which is right, because the listing does not say where its data comes from. Test it on a few URLs you know are not indexed before you trust a list.
- Not covered by the listing: scheduled re-checks, history, alerts, or a reason why a page is not indexed.

How to choose
- A quick one-off check of up to 20 URLs, any site: Bulk Index Checker does that for free. Spot-check its answers against a
site:search or URL Inspection for a few pages first. - URLs you do not own (backlinks, guest posts, prospects): Search Console cannot see them. Use a checker that queries Google directly: IndexCheckr or Rapid Index Checker.
- Your own sites, and you want to know when a page falls out: use Search Console's record, which is Google's own and gives the reason. The free script does it from a schedule; Indexkeeper is designed to do it inside Chrome once it is released.
- No tool needed: if you only have a handful of pages, URL Inspection in Search Console is free and shows the reason (four ways to check).
Also free and in your browser: compare two Search Console index exports to see which pages dropped between two dates, no upload. More tools compared: IndexCheckr alternatives.
A Chrome extension that re-checks your sitemap URLs through the same official API and alerts you when one drops out of Google's index. Free for 50 URLs; Pro $9/month. It is not on the Chrome Web Store yet: leave your email and we send one message when it is.
